The Lakes

This new home combines sustainable contemporary design with country house luxury. The predominant feeling you get is of space. Unusually, the plan is particularly deep on the ground floor with a social area some 16 metres long and this adds to the house’s sense of openness. A sensation that’s completed by the generous two tier lakeside terraces.

Externally, the signature material is a Siberian Larch ‘Z board, which is also used elsewhere on the residential development. Over time this weathers down to a silvery grey colour. Care was taken to stagger the joints so that any end grain staining does not pattern the long run of the façade.
